The "tamboril": from the instruments brought for the Africans is the only one that is still with us and is very popular in Uruguay,E specially in Montevideo. It is generally not individually played but with others of different Sizes and tones.
We named it "chico, repique and piano". The "chico" is the guide FOR the others. The "repique" improviseS stuffing ritms, and the"piano" improviseS sincope rithms of singular stress.

This ensemble is named "cuerda de tambores"

The mask that the integrants of some "comparsas"(masquerade) use were CREATED, perhaps, to remember mitic ancestors of africans, or perhaps, for the magic integration of spirits in Uruguay, with help of hallucinate music of tamboril and dance of attenuate convulsion of "gramillero".

From the book:"El tamboril y la comparsa" - Lauro Ayestaran.

"Lakale",
As you can see, your picture did not print. I corrected what I could. Remember that 3rd person singular of all English verbs in the PRESENT TENSE ONLY must have an "s" at the end...
I have submitted your story (The Library) to Do the Write Thing along with 11 other stories from the class. I will take the permission slips in today or early next week. (The only address I have for you is your Hawley St. address. Check your e-mail and see if my message to you came through.
