Dancing within the stars: A poem by queenofcats
At night when I close my eyes,
I am flying within the stars.
I soar higher and don't stop,
I skip, I jump, and I hop.
Soon I am there dancing,
And even romancing.
The stars shine bright,
I bask in their light.
Bells and voices bring me back,
I wake and my dreams I pack.
I put them where none can see,
No one that is except for me.
But if you are lost or things are stolen,
Look to the night sky with cried eyes swollen.
That's where I'll be seen,
I won't be too cross or mean.
I'm dancing within the stars,
Yet I never get scars.
When time comes to wake,
My eyes open while I shake.
I yawn, I stretch, and I greet the day,
"This is the time!" I hear someone say.
As if driven by race cars,
I must return to the stars.
This night I'll return there,
This trip I'd like to share.
Take my hand and to you I'll show,
Just how fast and how far we'll go.
Then you'll be dancing within the stars,
And you won't get any scars.
