Too Much Gab

The Red Sox are playing again and they are ahead 3-1. I hope they win.

I just read two lovely e-mails from Lilia and Ines. Write, write, write, and when you get tired-write some more!

Lilia said we had a good class today, but I am not so sure. I think there is too much GAB when the teacher is teaching. We need to be polite for other students. Also remember that every student is entitled to EQUAL TIME from the teacher. You are all important to me and not one student more than another. Also, DO NOT ANSWER FOR ANOTHER STUDENT. THAT DOES NOT HELP THE STUDENT AT ALL! I know there are times when you must speak your own language to make yourself understood. I would never say that you cannot speak your own language. That is an insult. However, most of you speak English in my class only, so English should be spoken 95% of the time.

We have a wonderful class where everybody is friendly with everybody else. We just need to follow a few rules. OK?

Tomorrow: two idioms on board, Grammar lesson from Dave's ESL Cafe, Reading lesson from Our America, conversation from "Talk your Head off". As one student would say---Pleasant dreams......
