MISTAKES

Pedestrian is only used for the people that walk along the street in the cities. We used the word passerby for the same situation in the COUNTRYSIDE.

You do not have to say "THE" people because you are talking about any people. It is the same as if you say, "I live in a white house (ANY white house)." If you say, "I live in THE White House," it means the one occupied by George B.

It is also possible that the man in front in the photo is a STRANGER to the woman carrying the sticks (or cornstalks).
