My Name is Vilma; I am from Honduras

I have a big FAMILY. My mother had eleven children: six girls and five boys. I'm the first girl. I HAVE WORKED very hard from the time I was nine years old or even younger. I have had to do many things SUCH AS clean the house, cook, wash the clothes with my hands, and take care of the children. Sometimes I used to work SOWING seeds of corn, rice, and beans with my father and brother.
My parents are very poor. When I was thirteen years old, I had to sell bread and candy because I didn't have any money to buy things. When I was 18 years old, I went to the city to work to help my parents to pay for my school. It was very hard FOR me.
But now I'm very happy in this country. I HAVE BEEN working for three years saving money to buy a house for my parents. It is NOT easy, but I AM DOING it. This country is very important to me. I found the best man IN the world! He is my husband. We have two children--- one boy and one girl. "No more."

Vilma Tajeda is a new student in our class. She does not have an e-mail address, so she wrote her story on a piece of paper and I posted it for her.
I would like to take our class on a plane to Honduras to meet your family, but it costs too much. We will have to hear about the other ten from you, Vilma.
