Mr.Leo's Mini-English Lesson#4---and Review

We started our class today with two idioms: "fit as a fiddle" (and Megumi was not feeling fit as a fiddle, was she?)-----and I forget the other one. We did some exercises with prepositions, some work with modal auxilliaries, a conversation period about relatives, and a vocabulary building exercise with our good friend, Mr. Bean. That was a full schedule, wasn't it? I found the story about the burning of the doll in Ecuador on New Year's Eve interesting. I would like to know more about it.........Ecuador?....It is your turn.
Tomorrow part of our class will be about modal auxilliaries again. You will have practice with using a modal with the word "to" and without the word "to". Example: I should go to school; I ought TO go to school......We will also have practice with using "can" and "could" to show ability. Examples: I can fix a broken faucet......When I was a child, I could play Giant Steps but now I have forgotten how the game is played. No Mr. Bean tomorrow, but a nice lesson using the English Club website.-------------And now two messages for two classmates: Megumi, come back to class when you are feeling "IN THE PINK". Etsuko will keep the material for you.........Second message: Evgjeni, come in early if you can and show me that lesson on English Club that you think is so good.........Pleasant dreams.

Vilma,
You are speaking better English every day. By the way, I gave a Best Plus Test to a lady from Honduras who is in Pat's Level 2 class. She said she did not know you, so I will introduce you tomorrow.
