Llamadas

Llamadas are a kind of popular demonstration of our ancestral inheritANCE. Slaves were allowed to HAVE parties sometimes and they used to call TO each other BY playing drumS walking through the neighborhoods where THE black people LIVED. Usually on FridayS, but IT COULD be any day, a couple of MEN WOULD start walking in the street playing drums and people WOULD LEAVE THEIR homes and follow them dancing. IT DID not matter if they WERE black, white ,or yellow, or what social level THEY WERE. IN the last decade young people HAVE METin cornerS and playED drums, drAnk wine and danceD. To play drums you need to make a fire AND heat the "lonja"WHICH IS A strip of leather FROM A sheep.
The fire has the magic of makeING this ceremony more intimate.
Once a year we PERFORM the official llamada. On Friday night we PERFORM a parade COMPOSED OF different groups with beautiful dresses dancing and playing drums. People from all over the world come to see this celebration. You can watch it on THE internet.

Lakale,
I made lots of crrections to your original story. (I hope you made a copy of the original.) I am sure we could argue over some of the corrections. (You have my e-mail address.) I was going to change your title to The Llamada --A Tradition of Uruguay but I was not sure if it is held only in Uruguay---or only in Montevideo even.

We didn't have slaves in the country side. We only have llamaas in Montevideo and one city, Durazno which is at the center of the country. Llamadas are only in Uruguay.

i was talking about the past, how this llamadas started. If I use conditional it becomes future.

Lakale,
You origally wrote," usually on Friday but would be any day, a couple of fellows start walking..." Sorry, you cannot use "would" when you mean "could". You meant that most of the time the llamada was on Friday but it was possible that it happened on other days as well. Isn't that what you mean?
