Hey, Lakale, What's Up?

Hey Lakale, we have not heard from you in a long time. My daughter said that I told you not to "bury" some writing and that is why you are silent. Well, that is true------sometimes. But I don't want you to be silent forever! After all, I use your writing with my students. I told you that! I let them look at an uncorrected piece of writing and see if they can find errors in it. We talk about it. It gets the group talking which is a good thing also.
I have deliberately kept the people I am teaching now OFF THE BLOG. I have done this for several reasons which I will not go into now, but there will come a time when I will send them an invitation to become a member of the blog.
Right now I want them to have the experience of looking at a piece of writing, finding mistakes in it, and rewriting it. After they finish doing this, I show them MY corrections which they then can compare to their corrections. I have found this technique invaluable.
So Lakale, as I told you before, you can write FOREVER and I will correct whatever you write. That is because you wrote for me when I was begging for a student, ANY student to write when I made my presentation at the adult conference in Marlboro last October. At the time I did not have a class to fall back on and I needed a piece of student writing to demonstrate to teachers and the admnistrators who were present there how I handled student writing. YOU CAME THROUGH FOR ME IN THE NICK OF TIME! (note to my students: I will explain "nick of time" in class.)--------To make a long story short: I need a new story, Lakale!.......(about anything)
